KAMENETZ-PODILSKI, one of the historical cities oldest of UKRAINE and principal city of the area of PODILLIA form part of the European cultural heritage incontestably. Its single geopolitical situation near borders, of important ways terrestrial and river, most notable being the DNIESTR, as well as the site of the city on an inaccessible rock island defined its principal function: a frightening fortress.
